Nous nous baignons le matin.
Puis nous partons, en vélo, pour visiter Silvana qui nous a invités. Elle fait un doctorat à l’Université. Elle habite à l’ouest de la ville, un peu plus loin que Marcelo P. que nous avions visité dimanche dernier. A peu près 6 km, d’abord sur la Libertador puis une fois à gauche. Facile et nous trouvons bien. Silvana est blonde, donc surnommée La Gringa! Elle n’est pas de San Juan mais de la région de la pampa. Elle loue une petite maison agréable et fraiche. Elle a fait un grill, des salades et une salade de fruits. Un autre collègue de l’INPRES, Luis, est là ainsi qu’un des amis de Silvana, Ronald lui aussi de la pampa. Il travaille dans une mine d’or. C’est très intéressant de l’écouter parler de son travail. La mine n’est pas encore opérative, elle le sera dans quelques années. C’est une compagnie canadienne qui en est propriétaire. Les sentiments sont mitigés au sujet des mines. D’un côté cela donne du travail à beaucoup de gens, et bien payé, mais de l’autre les écologistes sont contre. Lui nous raconte que la mine consomme beaucoup d’eau mais que cette eau est recyclée; que les dégâts dans le paysage (la mine est à 4000 m d’altitude) sont limités et que, après l’exploitation, les traces de la mine seront effacées, autant que faire se peut. Il travaille 2 semaines et a une semaine de libre. C’est bien payé. Il y a un projet de tunnel, à la mine, entre l’Argentine et le Chili. En tout cas c’était intéressant de l’écouter parler d’une entreprise complètement inconnue pour nous.
Silvana et Jens parlent un peu travail aussi. Et nous discutons, bien sûr, des situations de nos pays respectifs.
Après le repas nous prenons un café. Et eux continuent avec du mate.
Nous revenons le long de Libertador, rentrons à l’hôtel et allons nous baigner.
Puis blog pour moi, hier je n’ai pas eu le temps, et un peu de travail pour Jens. Nous dinons d’un yaourt et allons prendre un café à la station service.

Another colleague from INPRES, luis, is here and also one of Silvana's friends, Ronald, who is from the pampas too. He works in a gold mine. It's very interesting to hear him talk about his work. The mine is not yet operative, it will start producing in a few years. A Canadian company owns it. There are mixed feelings about the mines. On one hand it gives work to many people, and well paid, but on the other hand environmentalists are against it. He tells us that it is true that the mine uses a lot of water but this water is recycled, that the damage in the landscape (the mine is at 4000 m altitude) are limited and that, when the exploitation is over, the traces of the mine will be erased as much as possible. He works two weeks and has one week free. The pay is very good. There is a tunnel project at the mine, between Argentina and Chile. Anyway it was very interesting to hear about a place of work completely unknown to us.

After lunch we take a coffee. And they continue with mate.
We come back along Libertador and go swimming at the hotel.Then blog for me, yesterday I did not have time, and some work for Jens. We dine of a yogurt and go for coffee at the gas station.
