Je vais en vélo à la « Terminal de Omnibus », la gare routière pour acheter les billets de bus pour dimanche. C’est à l’autre bout de la ville. Mais le plan de San Juan est si géométrique que c’est facile de se repérer. Mais c’est loin. Je réserve 2 places, en haut à l’étage du bus et tout devant. Nous partirons à 11 h 30 dimanche. Je reviens et en tout, j’ai fait du vélo pendant deux heures.
Quand nous avons fait le voyage à Rodeo avec Marcelo et Maria Teresa, à Córdoba ou pour aller à Vallecito, nous avons vu des sanctuaires le long des routes décorés de drapeaux rouges. J’ai donc cherché à comprendre ce que cela voulait dire. C’est en hommage à Gauchito Gil, un homme bon qui aurait refusé de se battre pendant une des guerres du dix-neuvième siècle. Il a donc été considéré comme déserteur et exécuté. Il est très vénéré et on voit de nombreux sanctuaires qui lui sont consacrés. Il a aussi une réputation de Robin des Bois, prenant l’argent des riches pour le donner aux pauvres.
Pour diner, je vais acheter des plats tout prêts à un petit restaurant végétarien près d’ici (pas celui en ville où j’étais allée au début du séjour). C’est surtout des quiches, des omelettes et du taboulé. Je fais en plus une salade de tomate et nous dinons dans le jardin.

It is a tribute to Gauchito Gil, a good man who refused to fight during one of the wars of the nineteenth century. He was therefore considered a deserter and executed. He is highly revered and we see many shrines dedicated to him. He also has a reputation of a kind of Robin Hood, taking money from the rich to give to the poor.
For dinner, I buy ready meals at a small vegetarian restaurant near here (not the one in town where I went at the beginning of our stay). It is mainly quiche, omelets and tabbouleh. I make also a tomatoes salad and we dine in the garden.
