I write postcards and go to post them at the post office, by bike of course. There is a long queue sticking out on the sidewalk. But it is a queue to register for digital television. For postal services the queue is a bit shorter. People are used to stay in queue here, there is a good mood, people talk, the children play. I wait about fifteen minutes and once at the counter, it goes very quickly. Almost back home, I realize that I forgot to buy a button! Jens has lost the button of his trousers, luckily he has a belt. I go to a small shop selling needles, thread and so on, but they don’t have buttons. I go to the mall Libertad and find my buttons (I take two).
Tonight we are invited to dinner by INPRES to celebrate the end of the course. Marcelo P. picks us up at 9.50 pm. Dinner is at 10 pm in a big downtown hotel. We are about twenty, very good dinner. The meat is excellent. Good atmosphere and surprise at the end: Two musicians and a singer. The young woman sings songs of San Juan and the guests join in chorus. People here are very "patriotic" and very proud of their city, as much as Bergen people in Bergen. The husband of the woman is playing the guitar and a man is playing the flute. The flute player is impressive. The young woman is very friendly and knows how to make the public participate in the show. Then two dancers come and dance traditional dances from different time periods. A very good show. Thanks to Mario A. at the Institute who organized it.
